Brahmaswam Madham was established by the disciples of of Adi Sankaracharya. It is an institute which imparts Vedic knowledge through rigorous Gurukula system mythologies and is listed as a part of UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Padinjare Chira, an adjoining water pond, also has a significant association with the Gurukula system. Together the chira & the madham have historical links with Sree Vadakkunathan temple and account for a vast wealth of cultural traditions of Kerala Koothambalams. It has taken meticulous documentation, detailed condition assessment and the splendid craftsmanship of our indigenous workers to complete the project to near perfection. Ramanilayam. DD architects prepared an INTACH brochure with documentation of the premises and a conservation report, also participated in its restoration.
